Welcome Baskets & Basket-Ball in Hazelton

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

New faces in our community are appearing. We have had 12 new households receive Welcome Baskets in the Hazelton area within the last 6 months!   Welcome everyone to our area.

The baskets we normally see in the fall and winter usually have a basketball involved.  Beside welcome baskets, Hazelton is enjoying the basketball season also.

Once again, the HMB School is hosting the District Basketball Tournament on Friday, Saturday and Monday - February 22, 23 and 25.  The school gymnasium and facilities are one of the finest in our area. The communities of Hazelton Moffit Braddock and extended Sterling and rural areas, make up the population of the HMB School.  Students, parents and local citizens volunteer their time and skills in order to coordinate one of the finest District Tournaments around.

The student population and local organizations serve concessions, collect admission fees, check coats, supply music and entertainmnet while hosting the tournament.  We are proud to witness this excellent example of cooperation between youth and adults.

The school has internal TV coverage in the concession area and the theater room so that the games can be watched continually.  The accommodation for seating is in excess of 1100 seats in the gym alone. Parking is plentiful and facilities are handicap accessible.

More information about HMB may be found on the internet. http://www.hmb.k12.nd.us/  Hopefully we will see you here for the games.

Winter in North Dakota is cold, lonely and depressing……………..HOLD ON NOW!

 This is NOT National Geographic!

YOU can find action on this Hazelton blog site if your winter has been uneventful and boring.

On Wednesday, January 23rd, a meeting was held with Kathy Ibach and our Hazelton group.  Thanks Kathy for enlightening us. We are heading in a brighter direction already!

We are inviting local residents and the HMB freshman class to help bring some ‘new, fresh and youthful information’ to our blog site.  I am EXCITED!

In the near future, new names and fresh information will show up on our blog site. We are hoping to obtain ‘Paul Harvey types’ to brighten this blog site.  So, stay tuned for ‘the rest of the story’.

For Hazelton, Moffit or Braddock residents that want to participate, the training session is being planned and once plans are finalized, we will publicize the information on this site.  We are anxious to have you join the Hazelton blog site!
