Kudos to the HMB Lady Tigers. You did a great job getting to the State Basketball tournament, and a wonderful job representing our school when you were there. We are proud of each and every one of you.
Kudos to Coach Richard Bjerklie. You have done a great job coaching the girls basketball team, and have been recognized for that by your peers on all levels, District, Region, and State. That is a great honor. Now maybe everyone will realize how much time and effort you put into coaching. We are very proud of you.
Kudos to the HMB Girls Dance Team. You put a lot of hard work into your routines and it shows. You took 4th place at your state competition in the POM division. You represented our school very well at all of your performances. We are very proud of each of you.
Kudos to the HMB Boys Dance Team. I just don’t know what to say. You did a great job and represented our school well. We are very proud of each of you.
Kudos to the HMB Fans who were able to attend the State tournament. You were all very supportive of the Lady Tigers and represented our community very well. We are very proud of you.
You all deserve the awards and attention that you have been given. You worked hard for them and it has been recognized.
But what about the rest of the kids?
Drew Moch has been wrestling for the Lion Tiger Wrestling team for years. He has put a lot of hard work and dedication into his sport, and because of that, he earned a 1st place award at the State Wrestling Tournament in his weight class. Drew had only one loss this year. I know that many of us know about this, and many have congratulated Drew, but how many of us went to watch him wrestle? I have to admit that I am guilty myself of not showing Drew the support he deserves. There may not be any matches going on in Hazelton, but there are in Linton, and his State Tournament was in Bismarck. How many of us were there? You represented our school very well. Drew, we are very proud of you.
Alex Kleinsasser is a bull rider. How many of you know that? Just this month he rode in a rodeo, and he did well. Although he wasn’t there as part of a school activity, he represented our school well. Alex, we are very proud of you.
Our HMB Tiger Boys Basketball team didn’t do as well this year, but that doesn’t mean that they didn’t work hard. You were great sports and represented our school well. Boys, we are very proud of each of you.
Several girls from HMB played Volleyball this year with the Lion Tigers our girls did very well. HMB girls hold some of the individual records for volleyball. They represented our school very well. Girls, we are very proud of you.
Several boys from HMB played football this year with the Lion Tigers. Again, they did a great job/ Our boys represented HMB very well, and we are proud of each of you.
We also have kids who represent our school academically. Our kids perform well at Math Counts, the Spelling Bee, Accolympics and more. This year HMB won the Junior High Division II of the South Central Acalympics Meet. Eight other school were in competion with them. You did very well, we are proud of you.
In the fall is the Academic Fair where the students work on a project for two months and present it at the fair. They are judged by a group of judges on how well their paper is written, how the project appears, and how well the student can speak about their subject. They put a lot of hard work into their projects. This fair is open to the public, and the kids have all represented our school very well. We are proud of all of them.
Did you know that HMB has a Speech Team? This year there are about 6 kids involved and their coach. There is a lot of time involved in getting ready for a speech meet, and the meets take several hours – usually on a Saturday. Our kids have represented our school very well. We are proud of each one of them.
We still have some things coming up. We can still show our kids our support.
The HMB Drama Department will be putting on a musical again this year. It is something you are all familiar with – The Wizard of OZ. There are about 15 kids in the main cast who have been practicing since January. Several more will become involved before it is all over. These kids work very hard to learn their lines and characters for the three performances that will be given. It means a lot to these kids if you could show them your support. Please plan to attend. Performances will be held on April 4th and 5th at 7:30 PM and April 6th at 1:00PM. It promises to be a very entertaining experience for the whole family. We are very proud of each of them.
Let’s not forget our Band and Choir. Do you realize that HMB has one of the Best Class B Band and Choirs in the state? Large group Music Contest was March 10th. Both groups did exceptionally well. They are rated by three different judges, with a Star being the best rating, then 1, 2 or 3. Both groups received two stars and a “1” rating. They do this well almost every year! They represent our school well. Every year, they perform at Christmas and again in the spring. A lot of work goes into practicing for those performances. The High School Band and Choir Spring Concert is scheduled for May 6th, at 7:00 PM. It would mean a lot to the kids if you could show them your support by coming to see them. They don’t even charge an admission fee! We are very proud of each and every one of them.
There is also the elementary Band (5th and 6th grades) and Music concert (K-6) which is scheduled for April 24th at 7:00. It is so fun to watch these kids perform – they are so proud of themselves, as they should be. They do a great job at all of their performances. We are very proud of them.
The HMB Track team has been practicing for a few weeks now. We have several kids who do very well. These kids, grades 6-12, put a lot of time and energy into training for their events. These kids represent our school very well, and we are proud of them.
Let’s show ALL of our kids the support they deserve.
